Professor of Chemical Engineering

Research Summary

The Kretzschmar group’s research interests are particle surface modification leading to patchy and Janus particles with well-defined but asymmetric surfaces, the field-directed assembly and application of patchy and Janus particles, and nanomaterials as precursors to highly porous electrodes for dye sensitized solar cells. Most recently, my group has ventured into the field of particle-stabilized emulsions with specific focus on studying the position of Janus particles at fluid/fluid interfaces and the dynamics of how they enter such an interface.
